Supporting the creation of the (re)new fountain concept
Our innovation and design project for the natural mineral water brand Evian aimed to reinvent the consumption of mineral water at home by bringing more value to consumers while reducing the ecological impact of plastic. Working as a multidisciplinary team of engineers, designers, and business professionals, we followed a three-phase process: exploration, ideation, and prototyping, before assisting Evian's teams in the industrialization phase.
Our main concept was a water fountain that provided water conveniently without the need to worry about purchasing it, thanks to an automated ordering and home delivery service. The object itself was designed to seamlessly integrate into users' living spaces, combining functionality and aesthetics.

To reduce the ecological impact of plastic, we reconsidered the characteristics of the bottles, leveraging an innovative technology developed by Evian's R&D teams. This technology allowed the production of 5L bubbles made from ultra-thin plastic, using 60% less plastic per liter of consumed water compared to a traditional 1.5L Evian bottle. Moreover, these bubbles were made from 100% recycled plastic, except for the cap.
The fountain's design was sleek, highlighting the poetic and unexpected behavior of the retracting bubble during usage. We incorporated Evian's brand codes to ensure visual coherence.

To ensure the relevance of the concept, we conducted consumer tests by placing a handmade prototype in several French and American households for a period of four weeks. These tests allowed us to understand user habits and adapt the design and usage scenario of the fountain.
